Educational Services

The Educational Services Committee consists of one member from each branch of D17. It is the mandate of OSSTF that Teacher Professional Development shall be voluntary and self-directed. The objectives of the Educational Services Committee are:
  • to promote at least one county-wide professional development activity day for D17 TBU teachers each school year
  • to be responsible for the allocation of D17 TBU professional development funds
  • to distribute materials including resource books and research publications
  • to assist members in areas of research, professional development, curriculum, and issues of educational concern
  • to assist, wherever possible, in the development of in-service programs

OSSTF D17 TBU Application for Professional Development Funding

Applications MUST be completed at least FOUR WEEKS PRIOR to your conference/workshop/training
or BEFORE THE END of your course.


The APPLICATION for the 2022-2023 School Year is NOW OPEN!

For this year, funding for Conferences/Workshops/Training and Courses has been increased up to $1000.

**NEW THIS YEAR**
In addition to the regular PD Funding, members in good standing can also apply for the reimbursement of up to $300 for voluntary professional association membership fees.

If your application for funding has been APPROVED and your conference/workshop/training/course has ended, or you have paid your membership fees, you have 30 days to submit your expense claim with all itemized receipts. An expense claim MUST be received in order to receive reimbursement.

Please note that if your claim is for a course, you must provide proof of course completion along with your itemized receipts.
