The Educational Services Committee consists of one member from each branch of D17. It is the mandate of OSSTF that Teacher Professional Development shall be voluntary and self-directed. The objectives of the Educational Services Committee are:
to promote at least one county-wide professional development activity day for D17 TBU teachers each school year
to be responsible for the allocation of D17 TBU professional development funds
to distribute materials including resource books and research publications
to assist members in areas of research, professional development, curriculum, and issues of educational concern
to assist, wherever possible, in the development of in-service programs
Please note the following changes for the 2018-19 school year: Funding is now $400 for a conference + 2 days occasional coverage and $400 for a course. Reimbursement will be based first on conference fees, hotel and food expenses, and then mileage or car rentals. Claims made without proof of the payment of conference registration fees will not be approved and accepted. A maximum of $200 for mileage fees may be claimed.

Applications MUST be completed at least FOUR weeks prior to your conference/workshop/seminar, the start date of your course, or the purchase of your association membership.
We will not respond to, or accept, Applications for PD Funding OR PD Funding ClaimS from SCDSB email addresses.
All communication is to be handled through a personal email address.
